Committing to the therapy process can be intimidating and it can leave you feeling a little overwhelmed. As a client, you are asked to disclose the most personal aspects of your life and to process things that may be overwhelming. As a therapist, I will do my best to make you feel comfortable as you work through the issues that bring you to my office.
Here's a bit about me: I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who has 11 years of experience providing individual or family therapy to children, adolescents, and families who are involved in the foster care system. In the foster care setting, I used a client centered approach and would often use play therapy techniques and motivational interviewing when meeting with my clients or families. I am trained in Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to assist children and adolescents to process any trauma they may have experienced.
I also have 5 years' experience working with adults in the hospital setting. In the hospital setting, I provide brief crisis intervention and acute bereavement counseling to patients and families in need. I also utilize solution focused therapy as well as strengths based therapy to assist patients who encounter psychosocial barriers that may contribute to their admission into the hospital setting.
I pride myself in my ability to develop quick rapport with my patients, clients and their families. I enjoy getting to know people, assisting and empowering them to take control of their own situations. I hope you find the right therapist to guide you through your own therapy journey. If I can help, please call me at 317-743-8202.
